What we collect, and what we do with it.

InburgerWijs is a practice tool for the Dutch civic integration exams. The short version: we store what your account needs to work, we do not sell it or use it for advertising, and you can have it deleted.

Who is responsible

InburgerWijs decides what is collected and why. In GDPR terms, we are the controller. Reach us at support@inburgerwijs.nl.

What we collect

  • Your account. Your email address, your name, and a hash of your password, never the password itself. If you sign in with Google or Apple, the identifier they give us instead.
  • Your learning. Progress, the answers you submit, the scores and feedback you receive, and when you practised. We use them to show your progress and suggest what to practise next: an automatic summary of your own answers, shown only to you. It never decides anything about you, and we never guess where you come from or what your first language is.
  • Your writing and your voice. Written answers, and in the Spreken module the audio you record and its transcript. These are sent to an AI provider acting on our instructions so they can be graded.
  • Technical logs. Ordinary server logs: request paths, timestamps, errors and IP address. Used to keep the service working, not to profile you.
  • Payments, once we start charging. Our payment provider handles the card fields; we keep only your subscription status.

Why we are allowed to

To provide the service you signed up for, to keep it working and secure, and, once we start charging, to meet tax and accounting obligations. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising. Some of the providers we rely on process data outside the European Economic Area; where they do, the transfer rests on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

Your account and learning data stay for as long as your account exists; delete the account and they go with it. Spreken audio is kept only as long as needed to grade it and show you the feedback. Invoices are kept for the seven years Dutch tax law requires, by our payment provider, also after you delete your account.

Your rights

You can delete your account yourself, at any time, on your Account page (open the menu under your name). Your account and learning data are deleted straight away; invoices are kept as described above. If you still have a plan that renews, cancel it on the Billing page first.

You can also ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or object to a particular use. Write to support@inburgerwijs.nl and we will answer within a month. You can also complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

Cookies

One strictly necessary cookie keeps you signed in. No advertising, no cross-site tracking, no consent banner.
